Latinas Breaking Health Barriers
JSI is studying Latinas' use of traditional reproductive health practices and products. Information from the study will be used to educate women and health care providers about those the most effective practices and products.
Family Planning Training Centers
JSI manages the Family Planning Training Centers in 12 states. The program includes training for Title X clinic staff on reproductive health and HIV clinical, managerial, counseling, and health education topics.
Infertility Prevention Project
Since 1992, JSI has coordinated this project, which works in more than 400 facilities in 12 states to promote awareness, testing, and treatment of chlamydia and gonorrhea.
Entre Nosotras ("Between Us")
JSI is the evaluator for this innovative project, which connects with Latinas at ESL, job training and GED locations and provides interventions on HIV on substance abuse prevention.
Youth Lead Lawrence
JSI is developing youth leadership in Lawrence, MA, to advance breast cancer awareness, prevention, and access to care.
Perchloroethylene (PCE) Cape Exposure and Impact on Reproductive Outcomes (2000-2004)
JSI collaborated with the BU School of Public Health on a study to measure the impact of PCE exposure on reproductive and developmental outcomes.
Addressing Sexually Transmitted Diseases in the American Indian/Alaska Native Populations (2006-2007)
JSI worked to increase awareness of STD risks and identify and make available resources available to address the needs of Indians/Natives related to STDs.
HIV Integration in Reproductive Health Settings (2008-2009)
JSI provided training and TA to reproductive health clinics and programs throughout New England to assist them in activities aimed at integrating HIV prevention and testing.
Medical Communities Project (2000-2003)
JSI piloted tools to collect and map environmental health information and provide health providers a better understanding of environmental health status among their patients leading to targeted environmental health promotion and disease prevention.
Women of Color AIDS Council (1997-2003)
JSI provided technical assistance to WCAC, a community-based organization providing HIV education, drop-in services, advocacy and support for women of color in Boston.
Integrating HIV Prevention Training (2000 - 2003)
JSI worked with Title X clinics and other reproductive health providers in Region I to integrate theory-based HIV prevention counseling.
